Dropshippers - You will need sales tax IDs and permits for your business state, AL, CA, FL, IL, LA, MD, MA, MS, NM, PA, SC, TN and WA.

Untick all the Canadian states, Alaska, District of Columbia, Hawaii and Puerto Rico
For the application use the Multi-state jurisdiction form and include the CA, IL, PA, WA and MD account numbers as well as your home/business state tax ID number.

You will need to upload the FL, TN, MS, LA and MA certificates.

WV, WY and IN will need to be uploaded on a streamlined blanket certificate (as they aren’t included on the multi-state jurisdiction form)

Seller information for the resale certificates is:
Printify, Inc.
108 West 13th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801
Phone number: (708) 946-8300

Please note, the business name and address in the form must match registered business name and address on your business registration licence. The business name and address in the My Account section in Printify must also match the information in the resale certificate.

Notes to help with the application:

- Write “E-commerce retail”, as type of business you engage in.
- Choose “Retailer” if primarily selling to consumers, “Wholesaler” if primarily selling to other businesses.
- Write “Print-on-demand clothing, accessories and home & living items”, when asked to describe the property you intend to purchase from Printify.

Once the resale certificate is submitted and approved, sales tax exemption will apply to all of the stores that are connected to the Printify account. It will take approximately a week for Printify to review the information

Printify will email if there is a problem or issue with one of the certificates. You can email the Printify support team on merchantsupport@printify.com

Unfortunately there isn’t a way to see on your Printify account which states are exempt.  The only two ways would be by either placing an order and checking if you are exempt from taxes in the state the certificate was placed in or by reaching out to the Printify team and having us confirm your certificates.

Sales Tax Filing Responsibilities

Once you have a sales tax license in a state you will be required to file there on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis.  This is regardless of whether you’ve made any sales and even if no tax is due.

Please see our sales tax filing FAQs for more information.

Drop us an email at support@rjmtaxexemption.com if you have any questions.
